Covid-19

Covid-19 and its causes

The COVID-19 pandemic is much more than a health crisis and is threatening to leave deep social, economic and political scars for years to come. In the time since the outbreak of the pandemic, a wide range of guidance notes, policy papers, briefs and other resources have been produced to respond and adapt to challengers and opportunities the crisis has had on ensuring peaceful, just and inclusive societies.

This event comes at a time when the world is increasingly challenged by different forms of risk and the question how to manage them. The Covid-19 pandemic has cast a spotlight on the systemic interlinkages that exist between socio-economic human development and the protection of natural resources. Successfully addressing these interlinkages to achieve integrated sustainability governance will be imperative to minimize sysmetic risks in the future and build back better.
